    Hello everyone

I've been lurking for a while, and I suppose it's time to post.
My name is Victor, I'm 30, I'm a software engineer in Fairfax, VA, and I've been playing for 18 years.
I enjoy all sorts of "serious" rock music including but not limited to: King Crimson, Television, Radiohead, Richard Hell, Talking Heads, Rush, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros, 70's Argentinean rock, Brian Setzer, etc... as well as lots of blues and jazz.
Actual favorite guitarists include Freddie King, SRV, Tom Verlaine, Brian Setzer, Robert Fripp, Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, Adrian Belew, John McLaughlin. etc.

    My stable includes:
brand new Parker P-36 (bought yesterday!)
    2002 Gibson SG Special
    Gretsch 5120 Electromatic
an old Korean strat copy that is now my project guitar
    Marshall JTM-60
    Epiphone Valve Jr.
    Johnson J-Station
assorted pedals that I don't really use

I'm currently not in a band, as I find it extremely difficult to find people that find it acceptable that I have both Rush and the Sex Pistols in my iPod.

    Hey,

    welcome,

I use to live in your area. There are a lot of NoVA guys on this board. Nothing wrong with rush or the sex pistols.

Welcome! I bet there are plenty of bands in the DC area who'd be down with your list of influences. Maybe play down SRV at first ... :) If I ever resolve to get a lead player in my band, I'll drop you a line. -E

Totally acceptable. If you lived closer I would start a band with you. And a great band it would be.

    Welcome aboard!

Welcome. I'm another NoVa guy. If you also consider DC folks and people from the Maryland 'burbs, there are a lot of Gear Pagers in this area. (Had several great transactions with 'em too.)
