    Hi everyone,

I just registered here at The Gear Page after hearing about it through word of mouth and wanted to take a moment to say hi...

Been playing guitar and obsessively chasing tone for years; started when I was 9 and just turned 26. I grew up on the west coast around Seattle but live in Nashville now.

I've been inspired by a bit of everything over the years, but the primary influences on my guitar journey have been blues-based players (Bloomfield, Hendrix, SRV, early Clapton, '60s BB King, etc.) and finger-style guitar players. Chet Atkins and Jimi Hendrix are my two faves. The Beatles are my favorite band and George constantly inspires me to work towards becoming a better "parts" player and more musical guitarist instead of wasting notes and over-playing in the context of a band setting.

I'm not too crazy about instrumental guitar music, since I'm also in love with lyrics and the beauty of language, but to each their own. Chet, of course, is the exception to me. Though in general I love Bob Dylan too much to be all about the guitar and the guitar alone.

Speaking of the marriage between great guitar playing and powerful language, Richard Thompson is one of my greatest inspirations and heroes in this life. I'm seriously into the blues, folk music (my most recent kick), and meaningful folk-rock, but I really like anything with passion, conviction, and honesty.

I'm also an obsessive record collector, but of course this isn't a forum for vinyl lovers, so I'll leave it at that and not get carried away about my love for the Licorice Pizza.

Hope to learn lots more great stuff here and get turned onto even more tools of the trade.

    Best,

    Sean Weaver

    Welcome Sean!

I've been in Nahville in 2006 and really enjoyed my stay there.
All the people I met where really friendly and had a few evenings with good live music (exit inn).
I wish I can visit the US again soon.

But I guess that Seattle has a great musicscene too... ;)

    cheers,
    Arjan
