    Hello.

I've been a member on this board for about a month now and have made a few posts and decided it was time I introduce myself.

I've been playing guitar since I was about 13 - I'm 46 now. I started out actually trying to play Geddy Lee's bass part from Red Barchetta on an old classical guitar a friend of a friend gave my mom and then progressed to trying to learn all of Alex Lifeson's parts. My very first electric guitar was a cheap Squier Strat, white with a maple fretboard - which is ironic since I prefer rosewood boards now.

Though I was in a band for about a year in college, I play on my own as a hobby these days, mostly bluesy, alt-rock, progressive type stuff. Guitar idols (aside from Lifeson, who I don't actually hold in as high regard as I did when I was younger) include Joe Satriani, Andy Timmons, and Guthrie Govan (one of the best, if not THE best guitarist out there, IMHO). I've also really been digging Big Wreck lately.

    My gear:
An absolutely gorgeous 2011 American Deluxe Fender Strat, cherry burst or honey burst or some such beautiful finish. I got it used a few months ago. The previous owner put a Seymour minihumbucker in the bridge. The other 2 pickups are Fender N3 noiseless.

A white 2010 Schecter Tempest Standard. The pups are "Designed by Duncan" humbuckers and are so-so. Every now and then I entertain the thought of replacing them with something that has more character.

Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr. w/ reverb. Love, love this amp!

    EHX POG2
Wampler Euphoria (probably my favorite pedal)
    Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret mkIII
    Fulltone GT500
    TC Electronic Flashback x4
    TC Hall of Fame

Gear on my wish list or stuff that I fantasize about:
    BB Preamp
    Fulltone OCD
    Rockett Archer
Strymon Big Sky or even Blue Sky (way outside my price range, though)
    Malekko Sloika
    various VFE overdrive pedals
Suhr Classic S-style guitar (someday, I tell myself)

    Cheers!

Welcome to TGP. Check out the Guitar Store on Aurora--they've got Suhrs in stock. Fantastic guitars--you won't be disappointed.

If you want new p'ups for your Schecter, go to the "parts and accessories" forum. You'll find you have about ten trillion used humbuckers to choose from!
