Sounds great to me.
Strange how when a company releases something a little different outside the usual conservative approach that some people think it's funny :)
Some people MAY be coming from that place, but you don't know that for sure and it's not fair to pain people's opinion into a corner like that.

I'm open to all kinds of instruments, but find this one horrid. The only thing I like about it is that it's awesomely bad, but that doesn't seem to be the intention.

It doesn't show any care in the design whatsoever. It really is "slapped together" with standard parts. Something like this should have a purpose built pickup and pickup ring, trem, etc...and how about a more unique and ergonomic body shape.

Also, not sure where something like this fits, really...seems that the hollowbody archtop electric guitar already fits this category well enough.

I don't really get the trem on the acoustic body but apart from that, it's not so different than the J160 that was recorded with some success on many Beatles albums.
The Casinos and Rics got all the attention but a lot of the great guitar parts on the records were the old 160.

If they had an Electromatic version, I'd be all over that. Grab that guitar, a Fender Princeton, a slide and a Fuzz Face and play some filthy blues! :rockin

I hated it the first time I saw it.

I disliked it the second time.

I tolerated the look the third time, because the idea behind it seems interesting.

Now I quite like it. It's very gaudy, but it has a certain charm.

I'm absolutely not buying one though.

If Howard Roberts was still alive he would have at least 3 of 'em,...and because of THAT fact alone, a 'few' wannabes' here would be lining up to get one.

I do think (IMHO), it's a more 'useful/upgraded' version OF what Howard would like to use,...again JMHO. Tom
