First time recording and posting a clip, so the usual disclaimers: Don't know what I'm doing, can't play, levels too low, forgot to eat

    Anyway, it's a Tele straight into a Gries 5 (one 6v6)

    Thanks, Joseph!

Those are Lollar/GVCG Alnico III pickups (staggered poles)

FINALLY!!! Someone posts a clip using a Gries amp...!
Nice playing, sounds fantastic. Now I think I am sold. Those cleans are really punchy and just breaking up nicely. How loud can you get that thing and how much clean headroom do you have with it? Let me know, I'm gassing for one bigtime...

    Thank you!

Those settings were: Master at 4:00, Volume at 10:00, and the Gain just barely cracked. It's fairly loud in my basement at those settings, but as you can see, there's a lot more volume to be had.

I had the best luck with headroom using a GZ34 rectifier and a 5751 preamp tube. Stayed cleaner longer. But I just went back to a 5v4 rectifier and a 12ax7 to get this kind of breakup at a lower volume.

Very nice, brads. Wondering which speaker came in yours - Tonkerlite?

I'm using a Scumnico (new Scumback Alnico speaker). Really works with this amp.
