I was talking to Swarty about my Tremolux and he mentioned putting new grille cloth on it.
The cloth on the head is not original and was put on the wrong way so I'd like to fix that.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want the head and cab to have wheat or oxblood cloth.

My first thought is to go with wheat because it appeals to me immediately but the oxblood is growing on me.

If any of you have cool pics of of Blonde amps with either color grille cloth I would appreciate it.

These are the only 2 pics I have

I voted for oxblood, though the wheat looks great. Just like the contrast of the dark cloth against the blond cab.

    Have fun deciding, Allan.

It may not be kosher as far as being 'vintage' but I can't help but think that the absolute best would be to get some wicker . .. . maybe a slightly darker wicker

I have a piece of grillecloth just like the one on the site. I never used it for a project. It measures 36" wide and 37" high. I was going to start a thread for my next giveaway for things that are just never going to be used. First it was the Snake Oil Strings, and now it is this grill cloth. If the measurements are adequate, you can have it. I will roll it up in on of my blueprint containers. Let me know. M.E.

I had the oxblood color on two of my 62 bassman cabinets and I always thought the wheat was more attractive. Brian Setzer influenced ! I think an amp with Blonde Tolex and a matching wheat grille is the best color to me.

Wheat will show more character as it ages. Ten years from now (it'll be here sooner than you think), that amp will look real cool, in oxblood it will look dusty IMHO.

I always liked the oxblood w/ gold or blonde stripe in it on a blonde amp, but that's more vox-inspired that fender inspired.

I vote oxblood with a gold stripe.

I voted ox-blood. Though, I like them both. On my last project I used the darker stuff (with a black weave) and couldn't be happier.
