    Hey guys,
Looking to glue up my bookmatched panel soon, but I was wondering what grit you guys used for the final sand before gluing them up. It’s 3.5mm thick flame maple. So just a thinner veneer type maple top. This is for the gluing of the bookmatch, not gluing the top to the body.

It’s sanded to 180, it’s perfectly straight, no light shining through the joint, but I want to get this right the first time.

I’ve read different grits, and Im pretty comfortable with 180, but I also have some 400 I could bring it to.

    Thoughts?

180 is good. Too smooth is not good for gluing.

Yes, 180 is a good place to stop.
