I got an email message today from a friend who works for Groove Tubes and he said they are closing in four weeks or so. I know they were bought by Fender but it was still surprising to hear.

More likely somewhere else in California or China.

Should be interesting to see if Fender tries to "reduce production costs" which could end up being a disaster.

It seems like Fender is just buying up everything nowadays; wouldn't it be the perfect irony if the FMIC eventually bought Gibson? Now that I would like to see...:D

This is a shame,,,Fender knows so little about guitar amp tubes and types, let alone tube production....another sweetheart deal with Aspen I'm sure, just like the SFX technology era deal..

As long as Fender does not buy KCA NOS, I'm OK for tubes.
