Grovers for an SG??

    I'm looking to replace the stock klusons with grovers, 18 to 1 ratio, anybody know where I can purchase the grovers?? thanks for any help. gary

    I've got a NIB set of Grover Rotomatics in black for sale.Ordered them for a customer and he changed his mind.

    Stewmac.com sells all kind of parts, including Grovers.

    Just be carefull, as Grovers will add more weight to your headstock.
    You don't want your sg to be neck heavy.

    Thanks you guys, do you have any other recomendations on replacement tuners for a 61 SG reissue, that won't pull the neck down?? Thanks again for your help, Gary

    Yeh, don't do it IMO.
    Try this first. Remove string - take tuner off - wipe a little white grease or vaseline around the shaft where it touches the bushing. Reaply string with even windings and a little pencil lead in the nut slot.
    Its free and more than likely the problem. I've never seen a tuner slip. NEVER.

    Stew-Mac sells mini locking grovers...they're great, put them on my SG Classic.
