Has anyone give these sort of new Groove Tubes 5751M's a try?

I'm a big fan of the 5751 and have always used NOS, but am curious as to whether or not this new production tube realistically compares to the NOS variants.

    All opinions appreciated.

Since you can still get NOS 5751s for about $20, it seems silly to get new production 5751s for the same price or more.

    Simple curiosity, Mike.

All I've ever used is NOS I got from you... You make a VERY good point about those JAN GE's, but...

I was just wondering about those Groove Tubes.

Understood. I'm a little gun shy about anything with an "M" at the end of it from GT;)

I have one in my DRRI and I haven't had any problems with it at all. It was a great PI tube, and very good preamp too, but I went back to 12AX7's for that. It has a nice marshally flavor which is hard to describe, it's not super clean sounding...

I had a also 12AX7M and it was a dud, but the 5751M has been solid - I think it's an overlooked tube.
