I like the Tyler color combo...just can't get past the headstocks though.
Little background on the '57' re-issue. I bought it in 2004 right before the MLB playoffs started (I was born and spent 37 years in the Boston area so you can tell where this is headed). The guitar arrived and absolutely reeked of smoke. It was in pretty bad shape with quite a bit of corrosion on the metal and the pickguard was warped. So I spent the entire playoff run cleaning and overhauling the strat. Replaced the metal parts, bought new plastic, installed Suhr V60lps, leveled and re-crowned the frets, etc. etc. etc.
By the time the Series came round it was finished so I'd play while watching the games. If not for the guitar I probably would have gone insane from the tension of that playoff run - especially the Yankee series.
I don't play it often but every time I open that case I can envision the Red Sox players celebrating on the field in St. Louis just like it was yesterday!
BUMP for more votes. Purely from a self satisfying way I find this interesting.
The Briggs is way cool. Mini-buckers, great aesthetics. Why did you flip the bridge pup?
mmmmm, tinted maple necks.
is that edwards one of those jimmy page relic deals?
and nevermind, just saw the poll
A bit of an expirement. I am flipping it back next time I change strings.
Strat in a landslide!
Ugh...I want to take my vote back after hearing that guitar has ANY connection to the Sawks winning the Series.
Lovin the Tyler!:RoCkIn
Mike, you NEED a Tyler. Mike, you OWE it to yourself to get a Tyler. Mike, you SHOULD have a Tyler. Did I mention how killer mine is BTW? Most comfy strat neck ever. You OUGHT to have one you know.
The Edwards gets my vote. Love those guitars.
Don't like the Fender strats because of the colors. I totally hate the 3-tone sunburst (way too many guitars come in that color so to me it's like black guitars - boring) and the other strat is worn and that doesn't IMO look so great with that particular color.
I can't get over the Tyler headstock. Ugly shape, even uglier repetition. I got the name the first time damn it!
The Briggs is pretty cool, the body just looks a bit strange. With a bit deeper cutaway for the upper horn it'd look very nice.
I'm sure they're all nice guitars though, just don't fancy the looks of some.
Nice collection. My fave of those is the yellow 57 RI Strat.
I really like the JP Edwards, not too big of a fan of Strats...
'57 Strat. Very nice...
As a proud and happy owner of a Tyler classic, I voted for the Tyler:BEER
As unsightly as some folks may find the headstock, there's no better "mojoed" Strat style guitar in my book.
Gotta agree. If I could only keep one of the 3 strats it'd be the Tyler hands down. No contest really.
