who makes single humbucker strats w/ no trems, bolt on neck...look totaly cool too!!
You can. Just buy the level of quality of parts you want, paint the body your favorite flavor of rat, bolt it together, solder it up.
Allparts, Mighty Mite, etc, have good stuff to choose from, or better yet, buy it all used from eBay.
I think I've seen one from Anderson that was the bees knees! I'm sure any of those guys would make it.
Recently I had to finish a set with a guitar with just a lead pickup because of a broken string or something. I wondered for a few moments what I needed more than one pickup for.
Not a strat....but we roll with them too.
There are many reasons I could list why I shouldn't like that...
...but I do.
Fender did. Tom Delonge sig strat:
I actually have that one. Like it better than my Gibson LP Traditional.
Something like this ?
....... or u could find a beat up S type guitar, block the trem, rip the guts out and wire it to ur spec .... .... more mojo .... mine just has a dimarzio pro track and a vol pot (and a lot of holes in the pickgard)
i was actualy thinking of doing a warmoth job but i was searching for ideas as far as finish is concerned, looking for something realy for stage,,,,,smart or ratty
Have fun & build your own--I suggest buying the neck new from USACG or Warmoth and then looking around ebay for a body that looks cool. Necks are so personal, I never like to leave them to chance.
Spray paint and stickers! EVH likes to use masking tape.
i ratty guitars > paint it urself w/ spray cans
The Squier Hello Kitty. It's a hardtail, single hum strat style. X out kitty's eyes, put a JB or something equally rude, and you're golden. And for cheap too.
Squier bullet- I see lots of starter guitars at Target or Best Buy like that.
I scored a used First Act single-hum strat for $50, and it really plays well. The neck is better than any Squire I've played. Might upgrade the pu and pots.
I made this one
mighty mite or warmoth
i have a black Delonge sig strat... replaced the pearloid guard with a black one, straight up awesome guitar, ive never bonded with a strat before but i did with this one, if you see one... dont buy it, i want them all for myself!!!
i use mine alot for gigging if the venue is a bit questionable for security of gear, sometime i just use it cause i like it.
for the most part if your a LP guy you'll prob get on just fine with a delonge strat, big sound, big frets etc.
