Can anyone recommend a good painter of guitars? One who can do good work but not take forever and a day. Not looking for any fancy graphics, straight up solid color.

Mark Jenny. He specialize in doing relic finishes. He'll do a lovely light relic with thin nitro, but if you're looking for mirror shine, look elsewhere.

Check at Guitar ReRanch, there might be someone there willing to take on your project.
We use all nitro paint there if that is what you want.

This is an older thread I started but am now going to make a move. My question should have been, is there anyone on the east coast that comes highly recommended?

+1 for Marty Bell; very fast and very nice work. Wilkins also is very good, but I don't know what his turn around time is these days.
