Guitar Robbery in South Tulsa today, please keep a look out...

My friend's house was robbed today (south Tulsa), among the loot was three of his guitars. I'll get pics and info as soon as I can. I would appreciate everybody in OK and neighboring states to keep a look out on your craiglists and pawns. Guitar thieves are like horse thieves, and I think in TX and OK you can still shoot a horse thief.

UPDATE:
"They" kicked in the front door, took two Strats and a Les Paul, and bolted. That's all they took. My friend feels like his soul has been ripped out. The cops think it was kids due to the much more valuable stuff left in the same room. More info as it rolls in.

UPDATE II:
Black japanese made stratocaster with white pick guard, originally had floyd rose tremelo but he replaced it with a standard tremelo and replaced the keys too, no back plate.

White strat replaced keys on that, graphite nut, no back plate.

Gibson Studio Les Paul was mahogany with black pick guard, metal on it is gold, hadn't changed anything on it yet.

Dude, Ryan.... keep me in the loop. I will put out the word to everyone I know. You may not remember, but my guitar and some gear was stolen not that long ago. We were able to recover it thanks to getting the word out. If you have ANY other info, PM me.... Also, make sure you keep Dylan (mprvise) in the loop.

Sorry to hear about this.

Thank you everybody, I will pass on ANY extra info that I can.

...and if they ever find the punks, I will be sure to do a follow-up thread. Who doesn't enjoy hearing gear thieves getting busted.

Another Tulsa guy here... btw, anyone who has any gear should make sure their homeowner's policy covers it - if not, then insure your gear. Hopefully we can find this guy's guitars, but if not I sure hope his insurance covers it.

Old thread...I hoped everything worked out with the insurance!

I had my Strat and Vibrolux stolen recently from my truck (Tulsa area), and they are not insured.
I hate thieves!

This is a real bummer becasue I can't afford to replace them...I'm considering just building since I can buy the parts a little at a time.

Yeah, insurance was apparently good enough to ease the pain...he seemed over it for the most part rather quickly.

I suppose you don't have home insurance?

I once had stuff stolen from me while it was stored away from home and the insurance company covered it.

I was in the music store the other day and some kid ran out the door with a Jackson Rhoads V!
Incidentally the perps got caught a few days later after another grab-n-run.

It's like a bad rash of this happening in Tulsa lately....

No, I got divorced and moved into an apartment....renter's insurance, BDDT.
I'm just screwed on this one unless by some chance they happen to turn up in a pawn shop, which if that does happen it's usually years down the road....but I'm definitely on the look out, because it has obviously put a damper on my plans to start gigging agian.

Now, in the past I did recover a guitar that was stolen from me after a gig...it turned up in a pawn shop 10+ years later and I bought it back.
lol
Ironically I wound up selling that one and then had "seller's remorse" over the deal several months later and made an offer to repurchase it...but it was stolen from the guy I sold it to.
:thud

I've been having a difficult time with a divorce then getting laid off, so I "scaled down" to basically just the essentials...and those are what was stolen recently.(I had several pedals stored in the back of the Vibrolux as well...they got those too)
:FM
At this point about all I can do is try to piece it back together a little at a time, which is why I'm considering building new stuff.

Sorry to hear about your misfortunes and hope things get better soon.

If my name were Joe Fender, I'd send you some fresh gear right away.
