    Hey all,

I'm heading to LA on business and I want to check out some excellent guitar shops while I'm there. I know about guitar center and sam ash (of course) but what's your favorite store in LA?

Hoping to check out some custom shop gibson (les paul junior) and a custom shop tele or two!

    thanks for your help!

For acoustics Westwood Music and McCabe's are both good and relatively close to each other by L.A. standards.

Dont forget Mesa Boogie Hollywood...usually a cool spattering of Anderson, Suhr, Grosh, Hamer and the like...but TrueTone in Santa Monica is still my favorite. The vintage room at GC Hollywood is a sight to behold although I might question the sanity and/or mental competence of anyone who would buy something there.

Try Pasadena Guitars (http://www.pasadenaguitars.net/), Grosh, Trussart, Bad Cat, 65Amps, Matchless, Victoria, some vintage. Nice easygoing place to try equipment.

True Tone for sure. If you're up in the San Fernando Valley I'd suggest Norm's Rare Guitars in Tarzana for great vintage.

If you hit GC in Hollywood you can hit a few stores from one parking spot as there are a few right on the same block.

For a nice collection of new custom shop and high end Gibsons, Fenders, Gretschs, Martins, etc. check out Graysons Tune Town in Montrose.
