This isn't just a thinly veiled excuse to post a pic of my recently acquired Gibson ES-325, oh no, it's also an excuse to show the guitars you own that were made before you were.

That's a "new" guitar. I KNOW I'm older than it. I do actually have a guitar older than me (getting ready for it to be restored)...my dad's old (OLD) 1930 Martin 2-17.

I really like that ES-325. But I am about ten years older than it.

But you asked for it. Here they are. And it is not all of them. Some have not gotten their pictures taken yet.

This one may not count because it may be about the same age as me. The rest, however, are older.

I have all of these but the blonde hollowbody. Not pictured is an Airline that is identical to the three pickup Airline in this picture but has two pickups.

I still have the Kay Crusader on the left.

These three guitars are older than most of you.

Here's my '55 Les Paul Custom. It's only 3 years older than me, but it's still older.

    Roy! :BEER

Your place is just a treasure chest of great, old guitars! Cool to see so many of them are obviously played on a regular basis too, enjoy your collection for many more years to come.

Let's just say that I could have bought the OP's ES-325 when it was new...if I'd not been such a teenaged wastrel. And I have a Les Paul that's older than me...you do the math!

At least I'm younger than Brian and John, but I'm getting older every day...

My 74 Tele custom is 4 years my senior, and I am actively trying to track down an "affordable" late 60's strat player.

Wow, great looking Tele man. The '54 LP Custom on the previous page is another winner.

You guys who are of a certain vintage, would you sacrifice that special old guitar you own to wind back the clock back a few years? How many years would which guitar be worth to you? Or are you content, happy to enjoy your own vintage alongside that of your guitar?

See, at 31 I wouldn't trade my relatively cheap 325 to get my twenties back, I'm happier and more settled now than I ever was then, but then I've barely lived compared to some of you guys.

What about you Pre-CBS fellas? What would you trade and how many years would you want back for it?

By the way, hindsight is not included in this deal, you may not simply trade a guitar for a few decades only to re-stock with closet classic NOS! :nono

Here's my main gigger, a '53 ES-175, just a scant two years older than I am!
