Here’s a better pic of the purple Herc Fede swirl Ibanez. Reverse headstock as well. The neck is also swirled which is pretty sweet.

I just discovered this thread and of course I had to go through all 14 pages with a feeling of fascination and revulsion.

I don't believe Carvin ever used the "Steeler". They used the Kahler Pro, the Flyer, and the 2710. As I remember, anyway.

Now there was for a year or two a 'Carvin' branded Floyd copy but I don't know who made it. Maybe it was actually the Steeler?

*edit - yes, the Carvin branded floyd is the Steeler. Silly I didn't remember that. I freakin' have one.

My Japanese Strat has a Kahler Spyder trem, and it's great, it WILL NOT go out of tune. My only complaint is it doesn't flutter at all, it just goes "thunk" when I flick it. Probably because of the reduced mass of the block.

I have the low line GL-200K. Why? because I'm grown, don't care, and wanted to be Lynch when I was 12. Love that guitar. Played it at a country gig one night just to make the other guys uncomfortable. It worked!!!!

Oh yeah, and I got an '85 Kramer Beretta for $75 a couple of years ago. Had to fill in the route (had some basswood at my workshop so made a plug) that they made for the neck pickup and the holes they drilled for tone/selectors. Still has the Woodscrew type original Floyd. Painted it flat black, but am considering a repaint in neon green. Great guitar!

I'm grown, I care, and I still want to be Lynch (from the 80's) LOL!

I took my first guitar, a 1985 Aria RS Classic in pearl white, 3 singles and a v-trem, and plugged the singles, routed a single hum, mounted a Kahler 2700 Killer, and gave it a Bengal paint job. It's loaded with a Screamin Demon and (amazingly) sounds fantastic.

    I also have a Bengal SL2H, a Bengal DK2M, and a Bengal Charvel mutt.

    Never give up. Never Surrender.

Kahler Killer, huh? Does it also have the optional Auto-latch?

That's cool! A complete dunk even! But, I was referring to the white one in the back.;)

I think these are worth every penny.:)

I had one on my Strat HM. I didn't like how stiff it felt, the bar was a tad angled high, & the worst part was the knife edge was reversed. Liked that it had capped lock blocks & even tried them with the OFR I swapped in. Nope.:( After killing my Jem:cry:, I swapped over the Ibby Edge & it was better than the OFR. I think I'm going back to the OFR, but with updated parts. A big brass block & a push in bar.:)

The 1980's also saw rather decent guitars - altough it was like wearing a tuxedo on stage: 1980 Gibson Les Paul Heritage 80 Elite!

OK, it has the "wrong" shape, but never mind the cutaway - these Tim-Shaw-Humbuckers are still top gear!

The "into the fire" guitar! Awesome!!! I thought about doing the yellow and black tiger on the Kramer like the one he played on their American Bandstand appearance.

I still have my old Peavey Tracer Deluxe with the Kahler Spyder trem. Have had that guitar since '88 and have NEVER had tuning issues no matter how high I pulled up on the bar. Great trem.

Here's another one of mine - I just sold this a month or two ago. It was a beast!

That's crazy. I could get a much better GMW and save at least $600.
