Whole Lotta Rosie with Angus
I keep watching these vids to find evidence of vocal trickery. His voice sounds 1000% better than it did just a few years ago. The skeptic in me wonders what is up. Those high pitched screams sound amazing. Good for him if he got some vocal prowess back.
Wow. They sound better than they ever did back in the day. Good stuff.
Sitting down might help since he's not running around on stage getting out of breath.
"welcome to the deli, we've got cookies and cakes".....
His voice can be quite temperamental. Probably the best stuff I saw of him outside of hey day GNR was the 2006 AM Ring performance... I mean he was 100% on that night! And the earlier Rock At Rio from like 2001
Sometimes he veers into the "mickey mouse" voice... but he has can still really put power behind it when he wants to
On a related note I felt like the beat was really rushed during Slash's guitar solos in November Rain... it's like they were in a rush to get somewhere
I am quite surprised and happy how good they sound.
Holy **** Axl still has it!
I'm wondering whether the fact that he's confined to a chair instead of running around the stage has something to do with it
I Thought Axl sounded pretty good at the Troubadour show too from the odd bits of footage i've seen. Yeah, i know it's a smaller stage but he wasn't exactly static. I think these guys realise what a huge deal this is and have worked really hard to put on the best shows they can for fans who have been waiting years for this to happen.
Axl's not exactly known for going through the motions.
That was pretty awesome.
I bet being mostly immobilized for off-stage antics might have more to do with it! He can still abuse his voice without being able to get around easily, of course, but maybe it's a bit more difficult. He could actually be getting more of the rest and other things needed to maintain a voice.
Also, how often are they really playing? Length of the show and the frequency can make a big difference if you're straining your voice when you're singing. The real tour situation may be different....
FAR better than I thought this would be!
I would still love to see the original five, but maybe just in a club. For a festival/arena setting, this is plenty good.
Ferrer is a far better fit than Sorum ever was.
Slash has been sounding great for years, and he continues to sound great.
Duff probably deserves a lot more credit for their band sound than he gets.
Kicks ass. I thought this reunion tour would've been a joke but they sure proved me wrong by what I've seen so far. Guns is back and that's not a bad thing.
I thought November Rain was rushed and sloppy all around. It started fast and everyone was struggling to keep up.
Was a good indicator of just how live it was though.
band sounds great. I was listening to Appetite all day, one of the great hard rock albums. That band had serious groove. I don't think Adler/McKaggen get near enough credit for the roles they played in setting that up.
That was freakin awesome!!!!
They sound great. Love Richard Fortus! Wish Izzy was there but, Richard is fantastic. Love that he's playing a White Falcon too.
