If you had to choose between the MKI and the MKII which would you go with and why? What tonal differences / features (if any) does one have over the other? I am torn between which one to go after. I have heard great things about both of them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would go with the II - quieter, and has variable control over the the fast speed setting, vs the I which only has fast and slow.

I'd go for the II, without thought. the latching breaker switch, plus the ability to control the fast speed is very useful! you HAVE to play it stereo if you get one!

I like (and use often) the non latching brake switch on the MKI.

I'm sure you'll love it... it's a great pedal... if you find it too noisy... (which it is) then try changing out the tube for a NOS 5751 or something... it makes a reasonable difference...
