Hammer's Heart - probably the best darn playing I've ever done!

This is a Kee Marcello cover from my new album. Gear-wise it's Suhr Custom Standard through Suhr Badger 30 and Port City OS212, oh and a BB preamp for boosted goodness. Enjoy and feel free to share elsewhere!

I can see why you're proud of that track... beautifully fluid playing, perfect fusion tone.... a tour-de-force... unfortunately for your sales figures, fusion leaves me cold... but I'll pass it on to my fusion playing friends... they'll love it.

Wow...very Guthrie/Greg Howe inspired! Amazing tone.. You should
be proud of this! Recording is sharp, and perfect to my old ears too..

Thanks for the kind words guys.

It was actually written in the early 80s by Kee Marcello (ex- Europe), so it's very pre-Guthrie and Greg. Respect to those guys though!

The version you hear above is from my latest album "The Axis of All Things", most of which is way more rock than fusion but it's a mixed bag I guess.

Vey nice, Chris!! How was the Badger set up? Speakers?

Sorry for the late reply! The Badger was set with gain at about half and the Xotic BB did the rest of the gain, mics were just 57s for this track I think. I had the bass fairly low, treble and mid just above half, power and drive set fairly even about 1/4 of the way up - bedroom volume or just above pretty much.

Nice! These tunes always remind me of 'The Loner', this Dave Clemson version:-

or 'Cause We've Ended as Lovers', any Beck version.

KM was probably ahead of his time doing this stuff. I know Vinny Burns is a big fan. He was a Micheal Schenker fan when he was in Dare supporting Europe but got some good stuff off KM in the dressing room, which KM couldn't always use in Europe (band) and transformed VBs playing subsequently.

Thanks folks!

I didn't mix the album, but the usual delay setting I ask for is 8th note and dotted 8th note together, with one or two repeats each at about 40% volume of the source (or to taste).
