I'm debating which to buy. It's between:
    BYOC Tri-Boost
    Xotic RC Booster
    Fulltone Fat Boost
    Effector 13 - 25
Maybe even the Super Chili Picoso

I'm really digging boosta at the moment, and there are some great ones out there. You would think a boost would be a fairly simple design, but there are many different designs and flavors.
You need to decide what type of boost you are after. A Treble booster is very different to a clean boost, and then there are many that impart some tone coloration and/or grit.
I guess you need to choose one with characteristics that will suit your rig.

My favorite at the moment is the HellBaby, but I am going to try some others when I can.
Nick Greer makes several boosters with good reviews.
The Throbak overdrive/boost looks really versatile, and the clips on their website sound great - I will have to try that one.
Bang for Buck - you would be hard pressed to beat the BYOC Tri-Boost.

I just voted...I won't say which one because I really don't know what any of them sound like.
However, I need a boost and this thread is perfect for me.
I just Googled each one and read the specs of all of them.
What I need is.....a way to boost my solos, yet I like to have a louder brown sound as opposed to my clean jangley tone I use for rhythm.
So a highend roll-off/tone control is a must me, which did limit my choices!
I will be following this thread.
BTW, if anybody is selling a boost, PM me!

I guess I'm looking for something that thickens and gets louder (obviously). A little bit of dirt is okay. Not looking for a treble/full germanium booster BTW. I think I'm leaning a bit more toword the Fat Boost or RC because of the tonal adjustments that can be made on them. Hell, maybe even the Tri-Boost because it can do so much.

I have the Xotic RC Boost, but do not know the others to compare. However, I like the RC--it does not seem to color your tone, has plenty of EQ possibility, works well on the pedalboard, alone or with my ODs (Keeley modded TS808, Langraff).

It's pretty sutle, but can be dialed up to get a little dirt, or chain with a OD for that. Xotic also has the AC Boost, which is suppose to be a little more gritty. It's nice to be albe to step on the switch and raise your volume up for some leads without adding anything but a bit more ummph.

I heard somewhere the nickname for the RC was "Really Clean Boost."

Thought to add my fx chain at the moment:

    Effects/Chain (George L's Red):
    MKS PedalPad--Fulltone Clyde Wah--Fulltone DejaVibe--Boss Tuner--Keeley Compressor--Landgraff DOD--Xotic RC Boost--Holy Grail Reverb--Maxon AD-900 Analog Delay--Amp.

Effector13 all the way.... It's $75!? It takes so little out of your wallet and your board space, get two!

Seriously though, Devi makes a great product at a almost unbeatable price.
