I have a Les Paul with a repaired headstock and often place it on a hanger. Is there any reason to not do this? I'm sure it's fine but thought I'd ask.
This ^, if anything the headstock should be stronger now than it was pre break, you have nothing to worry about. It's sturdier now than an LP with an never-broken headstock.
I never thought about that with the strings....great point!IMO that stronger than it was before is a myth. Sure--the spot where it broke is stronger than it was before but it can still break right next to the old break. That said, the strings put much more stress on the headstock than hanging it--unless the guitar gets knocked off the wall.
