Bass player was decent, drumming was terrible. Sounded like an open mic night with unintentional, multi-tempos going. But yes surprising folks playing live were actually on the controlled music channels at any time.
Thanks for sharing this, OP. I got turned on to Jamaladeen when I was spinning jazz at the college radio station I worked at in the mid-80s. Rennaisance Man and Showstopper were ear-opening for me. You can definitely hear why Ornette took Tacuma under his wing (in that second piece in the video Tacuma quoted "Round Trip" a few times). Also, a lot of folks might be surprised that Vernon Reid played on a few tunes on the albums mentioned.
