When I joined, back in ‘10...

The safe space was the hen protecting all her chicks.

I’m always up for a good back and forth drag.

But they went and whined to their bald emperor.

I had a deja vu thing happen on ILF a couple of months ago.

I asked if that’s where all the HC “chicks” ended up.

Only I used another “C” word for chicks.

Geez, why would anyone want to ban you from a forum?? You seem so sweet and innocent.

In both cases, I think I was commenting on a pedal! :)

    And yes, I’m neither/nor. ;)

That was part of the early-days charm.

I guess I didn’t know the password to get in the club!

There’s a thread on the effects section kinda like that.

    You know, all cliquey. ;)

I don't have any memories of the place other than the reviews, I never participated in the forums.

HCOJ was where I came from. I miss that place. I got to meet some of those dudes in person. Jammed with them. Still friends and text many of them. Some were downright nuts though.

Like someone mentioned, it was the wild west over there. Ah the good ol days.

Positive. Been there lately? If you don't share a consonant opinion, you get drummed out by staff as well as membership. I'm a member at LPF but generally don't visit there, much less post.

JB had his own meltdown at MLP last February, ended up picking up his toys and going to the forum he partly owns. Sad to watch someone who's basically a good guy die on the wrong stupid hill.

    Nah, it wasn’t too cliquey.

If you could argue and liberally throw insults, you were in.

    That’s what I did.

And bald headed Phil gave me the boot.

I’m a regular on Lipstick Alley for over 2 years, and never got a “Time Out”... That’s what they call it.

That place makes HC seem like nursery school.

I'm always checking it out as I have a friend that still posts over there. It's still very quiet there and the software can still get buggy.

Same here. I really liked the reviews section. The only forum I belonged to before TGP was The Fender Forum. I was on there around 2006-2007. I started a thread about how bad the resale value is on Warmoth guitars and got banned. They said I was trying to sell my guitar without being a paying member. No warning - just straight to permanently banned. Oh well.

HC was really a fun place from 2002 to around 2005 or so. Very interactive, we even got some peeps together and made (2) different Open Jam CDs with different people contributing. The map forum was a really angry place, but the EVH photoshop thread was legendary!!! They are still around. I visit Cool Jam every other blue moon.

Back in the day HC had a pretty good area with gear reviews of everything, I used it a lot for this.
The forums seemed to very childish back then, even more so than this place has become

Remember that HC thread where people photoshopped this photo of Eddie? I can't remember how many pages it ran, but it was a lot. Funny stuff.

I don't remember much about HC. Which is strange, because I spent a lot of time there.

I remember BBreaker. He had the largest, and most impressive collection of guitars than anyone else on Harmony Central. A collection that big rock stars would envy. I think he has an account on here, but doesnt post.
