Has anyone own 1959 HW? Is it work well with pedal?
Yes it will work well with pedals, it is closer in tone to a 70's metal panel than a plexi.
Takes pedals great, but it is loud! I used dirt pedals to make it give up the goods without earbleed.
I have two of them in my store and they take to pedals really well but like Mj07 said, they are loud!!
Hope this helps
All the best!
It's a great sounding amp...but you have to change out the bright cap.
The stock bright cap is 4700pf, which means you really have to crank the amp up to get the brightness to come down. However, as others have mentioned, it is ungodly loud...possibly the loudest 100 watt Marshall circuit ever (and I've owned a LOT of them)...especially when paired with the super-efficient G12H30 in the 1960HW 4x12 cabinets.
I've changed out my bright cap to 100pf, and the amp just cranks. I wanted to sell it with the other bright cap in it, but had second thoughts after I changed it to a lower value.
It sounds MUCH better with pedals with the low value bright cap as well.
