Anyone at all? Could you tell me any more about it? I'm thinking of ordering one.

Hey you. I thought you were off the gear crazy-person bandwagon? LOL.

All I know is I have the 038 set and the neck pup is the nuts.

Just about. Tying up some loose ends.

Just like buying my Goodsell, I think I need to get a set of Mares or the curiosity will always bug me, probably far more than the disappointment I'll feel if they don't work out.

I put a 20-year old set of Antiquities in your old Tele and it's making my other Tele sound silly in the neck. I might throw in the HD just to see what it sounds like, but I think this particular Mare is possibly the perfect neck pickup in a Tele, as I like them big and thick and not Strat-like.

    I tonally agree.

I've never understood wanting a Tele neck pup to sound like a Strat.

Cuz if I want that sound, I will pick up a freaking Strat!

I have. It is a very cool pickup. It sounds like an old arch top dirty tone. I would give Don a call and tell him what tone you are going for. He will help you get there. He has lots of choices. None are bad, just different. You need to choose the one that will work the best for your guitar and amp.

I've tried it. Don't think it sounds anything like an archtop pickup. Sounds like a big, huge tele neck pickup...but no characteristics of an archtop.
