It used to be that I would spend a lot of time reading through TGP. Nowadays it seems I can hardly find any threads that interest me. What happened to me?

    Both.

I'm in the same boat. I don't need anything, and most discussions are about things that don't interest me or that I don't need.

Somehow I still manage to leave sarcastic posts.

We all change as we age/mature. I used to read most of the forums here, but since I've settled into the gear I use as opposed to the gear I think I need, my scope has changed. Now, I only read the Sound Hound Lounge and the Pub - and that's mainly to see what drama is occuring out there. Sure, TGP has changed somewhat, but I bet if you wait another 12 minutes, you'll start seeing the 463 Van Halen threads move back to the first page. Then everything will feel normal again.

    I've been here 11 years .

I'm not sure if I perceive a "change", as there's nothing that ever stands out as really memorable.

I still search the archives for info on gear, as I've surely missed things that were posted about
when 'new', but the day-to-day stuff seems same as it ever was, to me .

My god ,, what,, have,, I done ?

The biggest change I notice is that in the olden days we didn't have threads like, "Has the Gear Page changed or have I?"

How many times can you open a thread that reads, "best speaker for my princeton reverb", and have everybody suggest the one they own, cause it's "awesome!" Until the twenty third post when some finally asks what kind of tone they want or music do they play?

I think the more time you spend here, the more you see repetitive posts and behaviors. It can get annoying if you let it, but I still think there is a wealth of knowledge here. Can't think of a better, more well-rounded forum that can touch on many different styles and tastes. I like getting hipped to new products and being able to actually interact with some of the movers and shakers in the gear world. That's pretty cool.

Probably because you are seeing the same threads everyday (multiple times a day) because people refuse to search.

Or you are tired of participating in the threads only to have the OP be selfish and delete it because someone disagreed with them.

What Matt L and Guitar Josh said. I wish people would search before posting. But GAS is still strong and I find great info here.

Yeah, but then they catch crap for zombie threads then.

Either way, I don't care. If it looks interesting, I click. If not, moving along. I suppose I could always practice instead. ;)

I've been hanging around off and on for 8 years. I agree with the "same as it ever was" thinking. Handles and quantity of posters change, but pretty much the same place, imo.

No, it's sarcasm masquerading as wit. And that, it appears never changes around here.

Gearslutz is like that now too. It's like everything has been said.
