It doesnt even look like a failed delivery. It isnt in fact, They sent me my refund once they got my package. Free pedal? What would you do? Has this happened to you? I checked my paypal and it doesnt show me paying for this again... Is it just my lucky day,...free pedal

Karma says you should/need to make this right.

Do not listen to your mother* I would contact the builder and let them know the situation. It may have been intentional but it most likely is not.

*I am consistently amazed at how often I say this to people.

Call 'em. Return it (at their cost, not your shipping cost), unless they just say go ahead and keep it. But inform them of what obviously is a mistake. It's just flat out the right thing to do. Kind of a no-brainer, no?

If a working man made an honest mistake it's no different than stealing.

If you can sleep on that, thats your business.

    I believe in Karma.

But call them first and ask them. Maybe they will tell you to keep it. Then its all good!

I had something similar happen when I got my Muff Diver. About a month later, another one arrived. Yep, there was temptation but I contacted the maker and sent it back. Since he's not making them anymore I should have probably kept it as a backup.:bonk

score...just pay it forward....you should send me a pedal of yours that is of equal value...then, it's on me-

I can live with you giving me a pedal :D

j/k...you should communicate what happened, it's the stand up thing to do-

+10 on this. You don't want any more karma, and you would be adding some if you didn't take chervokas' advice.

This. They might have switched addresses wrongly or something.

I don't believe in karma, but its just the right thing to do to let them know. If its worth it to them, they will pay for return shipping.

Karma? I didn't know there were so many Hindus here:p

I say, return it if you feel bad about it, keep it if you don't.

In before everyone starts patting you on the back for returning it.

This is up to you and you alone. I am not sure of the facts, builder, etc. I suspect, however, that either they are really standing behind the work/product, or made a mistake, likely the latter. Anyway, you know - and only you know - the right/wrong thing to do.

There's no such thing as karma. People who do the wrong thing are more likely to get into positions where someone will wrong them. Not to be Preachy McGee, but you're looking for permission to keep something you didn't buy. Keeping the pedal is stealing, even if it is someone else's mistake.

    Just my 2 cents.

    1. You should've never opened up a thread about honesty involving gear.
    2. You should never ask in a public forum what to do.
    3. It's quite obvious you would like to keep the pedal, otherwise you wouldn't ask for people's opinions on the matter.
    4. Since the cat is out of the bag, return the pedal and tell everyone what you did by opening a new thread.

I'd definitely say you should contact the manufacturer... I know I wouldn't feel right keeping something that could be a mistake.

Karmic Law only applies when you've made the negative action. Keeping a pedal that was sent by mistake would not result in karmic debt. Inversely, returning the pedal may lead to positive karma in the future.
