So I made a demo for a guitar, and I used the HD500 for all tones.

    How are those tones?

I can already say I don't like that last one. It's way too saturated and over the top, and bright too. But the other ones are... okay?

I think I am getting better at dialing in the HD500. It takes a while to get to know it.

Well one word - Killer! That intro is awsome!

The last DS-J800 was very distorted... but ... there are places you can use such tones. Probably more for a lead than a rhythm

The D-Street BlackDbl patch clean tones you're getting, no doubt also due to the Bareknuckles, are to die for!
The J-800 patch I agree that can be better BUT your playing makes everything sound real good.

Great sounds and playing (but the two usually go together) :)

How did you record the HD500?

    Another excellent demo, Robert.

Agree that the last preset was too bright & the od/dist character was grainy in nature. Are you using the latest firmware for the hd 500 ?

Thanks guys, I have the latest firmware yes.

I recorded the HD500 via USB into Logic.

I find that I have to be careful about how much distortion is added - sometimes it starts sounding digital and artificial, if it's too much.

Dude...always liked your playing. Didn't realize until now that we used to live very near to you! Three Hills. I rode motorcycle through Camrose all the time.

Yeah, wish I knew that before we moved! Out on Vancouver Island now. Can't say I miss the weather where you're at.

Tones are quite nice. The last one there is a place for. Not for rhythm though.

I was playing around with the J-800, Park, and the Line 6 Extreme last night.

Thanks, it's a Blackface Double, with a bit of Chamber reverb, and a Screamer.

I used the 4038 Ribbon mic.

Robert - great playing and tones, man! Would you mind uploading the patches you used to Customtone (they don't all seem to be there, even though the video says they are)? Thanks!
