While waiting for 2.8, I urge whoever hasn't done it yet, to experiment with the Treble boost (Deranged Master), sucha great effect to boost darker amps with, love it :)

I've been looking at the Lexicon PCM80/81 for a while. Just hear me out for a second. I just really fell in love with the idea of how you program effects on that thing. Don't laught at me, I just got into guitars like five years ago, and only in the past two years or so did I really decide I wanna try to get good. So there's just so much to learn and there's just a ton of stuff that's dawning on me all the time. So I've been using effects since day one of owning an electric, but I never really thought about how they are made. So fast forward to today and I kinda know a little more about the history of effects, and the structure of digital effects, and it would be cool to try and program effects from scratch using something like a PCM.

While waiting for 2.8, I urge myself to try and see if I can do something similar with the Helix and try to create some cool, needlessly complex effects presets with lots of stuff going on in them.

And be sure to experiment with running the Treble low and the Bass high. It can be very subtle when you want it to be

    So let's see....

When is 2.8 going to be released.

My guess was after the white walker is dead at the hands of Arya
Cerscia was killed by Arya or John or Tyrion (got that one wrong) Her brother/lover did it!
Danys sat on the iron throne ( got that one wrong) -- the Dragon said no one!!

However it will be released after GOT is over. At least I got that right!!!!!

I am developing a bit of GAS again with the though of 2.8 being releases though. I am thinking of a variax now.....

Great suggestion! Been playing around with it in a couple patches since you guys posted this - really like the way it tightens up the sound and clears up a bit of mud (if/when needed).

Here's a cool video on the Treble Booster in general:

SO while we are killing time waiting for 2.8 = what type of delay, and what settings, do you guys like to use for a lead/solo setting. Looking for something general/generic that is NOT tied to song tempo, and something that's subtle for a bit of depth, not over-the-top like 80's use of delay. IF that makes sense.

170ish ms, single repeat sounds great for me.

Adriatic for me. My 'longer' delay usually sits around 215ms.
I often assign an Expression pedal (on Helix LT) and range 100ms 0 feedback up to 230ms 80% feedback.
That's the same way I use my Alexander Quadrant

On Stomp, you can set a Delay to 'always on' subtle Slap and then stepping on the switch goes to a longer lead setting (or do it with Snapshots).

I wish Line 6 just rolled out an update every week like Fractal. Just fix bugs as they happen and make everyone feel like you just constantly bust ass to make weekly updates
