Instant and permanent ban is the only fair punishment for this kind of cruelty :D

Good thing that we know Line 6 never releases firmware updates on a Friday :)

Even if Line 6 is ready to release 2.8 in spring, they should wait at least until June 22nd (or the 25th, a Tuesday) . Just to show who’s boss.

For the record, they said spring. But they never promised it; it’s just an estimate.

But its probably true, at least for the persons beta testing right now :D

Edit: they are probably already done with that though...

I'm hoping that not hearing anything means they're pretty much still on track for release. I would think if there were some big gotcha we'd have heard of a delay by now.

They may or may not be done. I think once the blocking bugs are supposedly squashed, they do soak test them for a few more days just to be sure.

So it could be done at this very moment, and they're just automated soak testing it over the weekend to prepare for us on Tuesday.

FW3.0 may take a bit longer if Line6 decides to model all the guitar gear in this room - the guitar gear is in one of the back rooms - checkout halfway into the video...

Assuming you still are, I wouldn't figure to see this released in "Spring" 2019 - although I'm quite happy to be proven wrong.

My guess is mid-July at this point.

Yeah at this point I am not hoping for June 21st, guessing more like mid July at best.

At this point my guess is it'll be out when it's ready, also I'm quite happy to be proven right.

Let’s go. Unless Joe is a 3rd degree black belt, together we might be able to subdue him long enough to scroll through the model list. :D

You guys are waiting for 2.8? My uncle, who works for Line 6 and is a totally real person, has let me know that 3.1 is in the works and will be a gamechanger. The 3.1 patch will include such groundbreaking features such as the world's first accurate crowd heckling simulation, the autotune equivalent for drunk sloppy playing, and a live bar graph showing how terrible you are reproducing that one lick you can't seem to nail down.

The whole secrecy stuff puzzles me a bit. I don't expect Line 6 to have added more stuff / features, but if they haven't, then why hold the beta testers back from commenting? Maybe the added a little extra something? We'll see soon, I guess.

Sorry, I mean "soon". Where's that meme @JiveTurkey?

Generally speaking, Beta testers are held to silence whether or not groundbreaking changes are coming for several reasons.

The first is to eliminate any ambiguity around what can and cannot be divulged. The other is that sometimes cool but problematic features get yanked so the rest of the release can ship.

When nobody can say anything, it solves a lot of problems.

Yeah, the ambiguity point makes sense. It's just that the other stuff has already been mentioned? But either way, I understand and respect that they have signed NDA's and must adhere to them.
Whatever the case, I'm sure 2.8 will be a great update, both content wise and functionality wise :)

I already live the 3.1 nightmare without the use of technology.
