the guitar is an Ibanez AF71F, I decided to replace the stock pickup with a Bartolini 5J - i got a killer deal on a used pickup and it arrived late last night, I tried to install it today and the bracket is too narrow and too long to line up with the screw holes on the ibanez -

    how can I fix this?????

Please post some photos. I'm not sure I'm picturing the description right.

I used a hacksaw blade..... everything worked out ok, it just needs a bit of filing which I will do tomorrow, until then I am going to go play and test this guy out - thanks GearPagers

not a bad deal for $59.99!

Sam Sherry - what value pots/caps are you using with the 5J - I am totally new to archtops and floating pickups and am trying to gather as much information as I can

if you're playing jazzy clean, i'd suggest 500k for both, linear volume and audio tone.

(the linear volume sweeps more evenly when there's no amp distortion or compression.)
