I kept getting that until I set the MIDI delay and buffer to 128 & 128. Slow to upload, but at least it is reliable now...

I didn't till I read your post. The midi test failed in AxeEdit. Plus I have no idea how to operate that software.

For some reason the loopback test in Axe Edit "fails" with me as well, but I am able to update the firmware.

It really is as easy as choosing "settings" & "update firmware."

    Give it a shot. :)

    - the loopback test will ALWAYS fail if your device midi in is hooked up to the Axe midi out. The axe does not echo midi out via the out, but from the THRU. Connect your device midi IN to Axe midi THRU and the test will work.

and yes, update it that simple.. follow instructions.

When I tried this it only saw 10.5, not 11. I was unable to get AxeEdit to see the downloaded 11 update.

How do you load the firmware into Axe-Edit in order to send it to the unit? 11 is on my hard drive.

No, you go to the Settings.. Update Firmware menu item...
you then pick the firmware file to upgrade - this would be 11 (wherever you have unzipped it to on your PC.. yes, it's in a zip file and must be extracted first). Once you select that file, it will give a screen that provides instructions - like go to Utility menu on Axe, go to Firmware tab, press enter - you'll get a waiting to receive screen.. Go back to editor and press send button.
It'll let you know when its done.
    Power cycle... Axe.

I did that but I keep getting a bad checksum. Looks like I need to try it on another computer or get another midi/usb cable.

Either this firmware release or the latest Axe Edit made it the first time since I've been upgrading I've had a problem with the BAD Checksum thing, I had to use BOME this time.

My newly loaded corp laptop fails every time. Tried my desktop at home with win7-works like a champ. I wish it was the other way around, but there it is. My old laptop worked-sometimes.
