Help! Kemper and Atmoci Reactor FR Powered Cab

I bought used an AtomicFR Powered Cab, plugged in the Kemper and it sounded dull and lifeless and no treble. I add just a little tweeter and it sounds better, but then there is distortion from tweeter. I added treble to the patches and that didnt help. What am I missing?

1. Currently running from main out, should I switch to monitor out?
2. Should I take the speaker stim off the Kemper?

Howard, Hello fellow Clevelander. If the Atomic is a FRFR Speaker, I would not turn the cab sims off. I'm thinking something may be wrong with the Atomic Spkr. I just got my KPA yesterday, and plugging into my K10 right out of the box the KPA got some fantastic tone. There were some rigs that sounded "spikey" thru the K10, but i think I can fix this with an EQ adj. on the KPA or a different FRFR.

Do you play out with your KPA? Id like to hear one going to FOH as Ill be getting mine out on the job in a couple of weeks. I'm going to have to try and level my rigs at home, as I don't have access to the FOH until the nite of the gig. I'm hoping tweeking on the fly won't be as difficult with the KPA as it was with my HD500.

I'm assuming he is talking about the QSC K10 which is another powered FRFR speaker.

Leave the cab sims on.

Use Monitor out (you could use Main out, but make sure it's set for mono output).

Make sure that the KPA isn't configured for no cab sims on the Monitor output.

If none of the above works, try browsing through different cab sims. If that doesn't work your cab may be broken.

For those who missed the OP: He's NOT using a CLR, he's using an Atomic Reactor FR cab.

Based on reviews, it appears they do not offer a particularly flat response (and Atomic refused to publish frequency response graphs for public viewing), even though they were advertised as doing so. It seems to me that it's kind of a weird "in-between" cab. Not quite voiced like a traditional guitar cab, but not nearly as flat as you'd want for FRFR use. I dunno... Going by posted specs and other people's thoughts only.

I've seen, and heard the KPA thru one of these(y-tube), and it sounded pretty good. So that's why I mentioned it may be a defective unit. I know he wasn't talking about the CLR, BTW.

Without intending to hijack, is there a tonal difference between playing through monitor out and Main out, and which is the ideal one?
