My new band is very much psychadelic/dance rock style stuff, and I play a lot of cleans into my 68 Ampeg GS-12r and the other player plays a Les Paul into fender-y amps, sometimes a Marshall.. uses a TS and a big muff for most of his overdrive. Working out to be a cool dynamic, but I know there are times where clean just won't work.

I currently have a Moog MF-drive (mostly for the expression pedal filter sweeps) and Belle Epoch, and plan on adding a few more pedals.

    1) Get a moog MF-delay (or some other delay, maybe Echorec or DMM) and pair with an EHX 8-step sequencer

    2) Fuzz - need help here, but thinking a Fuzzrite or something in the Maestro world

    3) comp? Do I need one?

    4) small stone

    What else would you add?

If I was joining a dance-rock band, I'd get a Bit Commander, a 3Leaf Proton, and a Memory Lane Jr.

It's more than just dance, hard to explain without some samples I suppose. More "psych" than dance?

What is psychedelic dance rock? I love music genres. I once started a food themed pop/punk/folk/math/indie/deathcore/bluegrass band. We played some covers but mostly originals, all about food. You will most definitely need a compressor for that type of music. You are not even in the pysch/dance rock game without one of those.

Yeah I figured. I've had my eye on the keeley pro comp because of the attack/release. Any other ideas ?

Psych dance rock...hard to describe. Will have some samples soon hopefully!

Nice. :) I'd rather mix Dr. Dog and Spaceheads though.

I just came in to suggest a Small Stone...

Maybe a tap tempo delay for rhythmic repeats? Very inspirational if groove and beats are a "thing" for you guys.

You can get by with very little! Keep it simple IMHO, let your cleans shine through most of the time while the other guy goes crazy. Use your spare cycles to interact with the audience, who can barely tell a guitar from a bass.

I'd use a comp, delay, and one OD. Maybe a filter pedal for funk stuff. Maybe. But that's just what I use, no more, I can't think about too much on stage.
