Bump why? WhT new info do you want?
A comparison between the 2061cx and the 1960tv cab. I should elaborate more lol.
Im trying to downsize from my 1960tv to something smaller. Horizontal 2x12 cabs dont work for me (but my ankles love em!).
My main amp is similar to the OP's.
Ive got a LTD ED 2013 Metro GMP45 Head, and run anything from 1 x 12-8 x 1 x 12, though all 8 of the speakers arent the same, and I dont usually run it like that anyway. I have them daisy chained with Neutrik locking connectors, NL2MP , and NL2FX type both 2 Pole. Belden 8473 14 gauge wire. and 2 Neutrik input jacks on each cabinet.
The main thing is the cabinets are best elevated, or tilted back. I prefer elevated.
I had Tim at TRM Cabinets make cabinets tuned for JBL E120s originally for my E120s, and like the size for 1 speaker.
I also had them made with 3 piece backs so I can run Semi Open, and can also close the ports, and run sealed.
Be just as easy to use a TL806 cabinet, and dont run the ports unless you use an EV 12L.
I only use the ports with the E120s, and either run 1/3-2/3rd semi open, or sealed with all other speakers. Cabs are all 3/4 Birch Ply. I really like the sound of the semi open back, and open ports. Sound comes from everywhere.
Ive got 2 x 1 x 12 Celestion 90w Creams.
2 300w JBL E120s with Hemp cones
2 100w Rawson Sparfield Starfinders
2 150w Celestion G12H Redbacks.
I do like a 4 x 12 too. Mine is a 1966 JTM45/100 Replic TVB cabinet made by Pete Mather. EC Collins Pinstrip cloth, and 4 Pulsonic G12M. 5/8th Ply. Void Free, and extremely well made.
Yes the 2 x 15 Altec 418H also sound glorious with the Metro. Ive had them, and the 69 Dual Showman Rvb since 1973. DS has been Blackfaced/ODS mod.
