The notes out of my little Koch Studiotone sometimes are starting to have a slightly "strangled" trembling sound. It's so subtle, I sometimes think maybe it's just my hearing. But there is this subtle warbling sound that I don't think should be there. Anyone know what this might be? It's as if there is a far-away woman with a subtle vibrato who is being strangled gently and this sound is getting mixed into my playing. It's most noticeable when I play slowly on single note runs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Do you have a ceiling fan in the room?

    No, I'm not kidding.

YES. I do have a ceiling fan in the room. And I have been starting to run it lately.

    Maybe that's the problem ? ! ?

    I'll want to investigate that.

But you seems to have some intelligence on the subject. Can you share what you know? Thanks.

I came across the same problem about 15 years ago. I realized that I had just started running my ceiling fan, so I turned the fan off and tried again - annoying sound went away. :)

Check the pickup height on your guitar especially if it is a strat. Might be too close. Ceiling fans will do it though. Good luck.

Thx for the fix. I'm not sure I would have figured out about the fan on my own. Probably would have ended up with my amp in some shop and an expensive repaire bill.

    So thanks.
