    HI everyone.
Im on a search for a guitar along these lines

More of a shred(ish) guitar than what i have (daphne blues fender usa strat and les paul). Something with alot of versatility, ideally 24 frets and a whammy bar set up. I prefer rosewood or ebony boards. My strat i love but have hard time playing in higher region.

For this guitar im into the idea of getting a brand which isnt usual and typical prs,gibson,fender-im looking for something special.

Not that it matters much but my favourite looking guitars tend to be vintage beaten the crap out of guitars-so something to bare in mind-any suggestions would be really appreciated

I was looking at a Music man luke 3-in black, but i am compiling a list of guitars to find and try out.

Yeah, Suhr will age/relic it too, I believe. Also look into the Anderson Angel.

Maybe not "special" enough, but I love made-in-Japan Ibanez shredders.

    What's your budget?

Off the cuff I'd recommend looking at what ESP has to offer. They have some very nice US made models and the Korean made LTD's aren't bad either. I'm not really into shredder style guitars but I've liked the George Lynch signature models I've played.

Oh, and I recently bought a custom shop Charvel and man is it a nice guitar. I like it more than the Anderson I just sold and the Suhr's I've played. The GG sig has 24 frets.

Ibanez Satriani models have any appeal? They are well made and are nice to play.

Apart from the relic thing, Vigier guitars (the Excalibur, perhaps) should be right up your alley.

Yeah, as others have suggested, the Suhr Modern or Modern Satin would be perfect
