Help me remember this song about a captain and sinking ship. SOLVED. Now post your ship songs...

I remember hearing a song years ago. I remember it being an indie band from the late 80's or early 90's. I wanna say it was a one word band name. The song was real long, maybe 6 minutes or more. It was a slowish tempo with these droning clean guitars, but there were parts with heavy distortion too.

The singer didn't really sing, but talks the lyrics to the entire song. It has something to do with the captain of a ship that is wrecked or sinking. Something like that. It was a real trippy song and I'd like to buy it from iTunes. I know somebody here will recognize it.

I've tried searching the internet with those couple keywords and I've got nothing.

Thanks guys, but none of them are it. It was a real dark song. The singer just talks the whole time. Kinda like the verses on "pepper" by butthole surfers. Just a talking vocal with maybe a little of that telephone style EQ.
