    Hi, all;
    I'm pretty much an idjit when it comes to computers. I'd like to load some tunes onto myspace, and it requires an mp3 format. :NUTS

    My Cds all play in Itunes - which is mp4, so I can't even upload cds of my own tunes to myspace. :jo

    Seems to me that I need an mp3 converter. What works? I've tried a few pieces of shareware, all of which require me to load some Lame thing, which, once downloaded, I can never get together with the peice of software that required it.

    What do I do? Is there something that I can buy? I'LL PAY! I just want to stop pounding on my computer, and upload the damned files. :jo

    Thanks,
    Cowboy

    You can change preferences in iTunes to use mp3 when ripping (importing) CDs instead of AAC (mp4). Or use Audacity + LAME to encode any .wav (pcm) file. Stop pounding and RTFM. You are supposed to copy the LAME file in the program folder of Audacity so it can find it. Its called an encoder, not convertor, FWIW. HTH

    Yup import the files into iTunes and your done in a few seconds.
    Go to the file menu upper left corner and click Advanced/ Convert to MP3

    The new MP3 file will be saved to your itunes folder unless you specify otherwise.

    Easy ***burn what you want to CD and it is automatically converted into a WAV. Import that CD that you just burned as an MP3 by changing your preferences. Always go with MP3 as your compressed format, it plays on PC, IPOD or MAC.
