Help with linking amps...

Hello

I'm new to this board, and looking for a bit of advice on linking amps...

I've got a Marshall JTM-45 head, a Fender Twin Reverb '65 re-issue, and a Marshall 2x12 cab.

I'm interested to know whether I can use the channel jumping trick from the Marshall to run into the Twin instead of the other channel, or whether there's a way to drive the Twin with the Marshall.

What about the speaker output from the Marshall into the Twin channel input?

Is this going to damage the amps?

Thanks in advance

Joel

P.S. If anyone wants to sell a Analogman SunFace...

The channel jumping trick would work fine, but has no real advantage over a good AB box (like the Switchbone) that isolates the two amps from each other, diminishing hum.

To run an output from the speaker on the Marshall into the Twin (turning it into a preamp for the Twin, the Marshall isn't loud enough?:)), you'll need an attenuator or load box with a line out (such as the Weber).

The Marshall is perfectly loud enough, but I'd like to drive the twin with the Marshall to see how the blend of it's overdrive and the Twin's clarity sounds, and also I'd get use of Fender Reverb and Vibrato too!

Think I'll give the channel jumping a try, and see how I get on.

Thanks for your help!

Uhm. I'm nobody, but I would think that running from the speaker output on the marshall into an input on the Twin would blown 1 or both amps pretty good!

OK, I'll steer clear of that then!
Just going to run the channel jumping from the Marshall into the Twin's input, for the clarity and reverb/tremolo.

If not, I'll probably use it as a glorified 2x12 cab!
