Just got mine in today from PGS so thought I would give you guys a little review.

Wow.... this thing rips. Tons of gain and volume on tap, I've been running volume at about 9:00 all day, and it is still a boost from standard level. Fuzz has just an awesome cutting character. If you play soft enough it sort of disappears only to be unleashed again by a heavy pick attack. One of the coolest features I've found is that while holding out notes depending on where the fuzz level is set, it has a beautiful, natural sounding decay, that fades out and sometimes comes back in via feedback. With my rotovibe after the fuzz, it just nails the Hendrix filmore tone. I'm not sure you could get closer if you tried.

Great job Dunlop. You guys knocked it of the park with this one.

It's the first round "fuzzface" that's not a normal fuzzface circuit, very cool in big and mini!

    Lt Dak likes this.

If it's just an Octavia without the
    Octave ,why wouldn't one
just get an Octavia and shut the
    Octave off?

Not many Octavia clones have that ability. The Chicago Iron Octavian II and Fulltone Octafuzz are the only two I know of.

No. Alot of octave/fuzz pedals do, but not many of them are OCTAVIAs. They are Foxx Tone Machines or something else.

    OK let's rephrase that then....
what's the advantage of this over the "few and far between"
    Octavia's with a switch?

You'd probably have to ask Dunlop that... altho I'd love to hear from anyone who has a CI Octavian II or Octafuzz that ALSO has one of these BOG fuzzes...

Nope both big and small versions have a switch right between the knobs

I would be curious to hear a BOG vs Octafuzz shootout.

Was thinking the same about five minutes ago
playing with my old big box Octafuzz which sounds Huge
and was wondering how can the BOG sound better !!

It's not an Octave fuzz. It's a fuzz tuned along the lines of the "fuzz" side of an octave fuzz.
