As they say, great minds think alike!

About a month ago, I emailed Mike and told him what great tones I had been getting from my King of Tone boosted by his Beano Boost. I asked him if he had ever considered putting them together in the way that his Sun Lion was done?

He replied and comented that he too loved the classic rock tones he got by boosting the KOT and he had considered the combo!

I asked if he would be willing to put one together for me if I ponied up my KOT and paid for work, materials, and return shipping? He agreed!

We discussed enclosure size, color, order of effects, graphics, etc.

I came up with the name - (based on the Sun Lion, KOT, and The Beatles song) and Project- "Sun King" was born.

I recieved the pedal today and asked Mike if it was OK if I posted about it? I wasn't sure what would happen if I showed it off. He replied and had the following to say:

    > This is not going to be a regular production pedal.
    > It can now be an option for those who come up on the list for their KOT
    > OR are willing to send in their existing KOT and pay for the work, materials, etc. as I did.

I would have just copied/pasted his email, but I don't have access to that acct. from home.

I have only had half an hour or so to jam on it, but needless to say, IT SOUNDS KILLER!

Here are some shots of ANALOGMAN's exceptional work! I give you, Sun King #1!!! Thanks to Mike and his top shelf Crew!

Cool idea, man! I'd love one of those, but I'm impatient when it comes to waiting lists. My loss, I suppose.

    :omg :bow

I totally agree! Boosting the KoT with the Beano is one of my favorite combo's too! I use that combo way more than the two sides of my sunlion together! Wow...tempting

That is a cool pedal, but why not just get a Beano Boost separate? Then you can put it somewhere else in the chain if desired. This is a very cool one-off though.

I feel like it needs to have sunface->beano->kot then you just need some modulation and delay. rock

Analogman's approach to customer demands requests is amazing, from the POT/Yellow King in progress to the Black and Gold Astrotone and now this. Wow. Big props and mad shouts out to Analog Mike and his pedal shop. They do customer service right to apparently. Now to send in my Sun Face, Beano, and KOT for a Lion King ;-)

That's a cool idea. I never thought of stacking those two together. I guess it's time to break out my Sunlion and try the Beano with the KOT.

How much extra were the materials?

Nice pedal. Very neat. I'm just too far away to have something similar done, but I would really love to have my KOT, Beano and Sunface in one box... would save me from needing patch cables and would be easier to tote. Judging from your pics, methinks all three would fit in the same size of enclosure!

That's funny, I thought the other day that it would be cool if AM did a multi effects pedal where you pick 4 of his pedals and he would put them into a strip. How amazing to have fuzz, comp, KOT, Beano all in one.
