Well I had to do it. I bought the Express "Desiree" 5 years ago now and im still in love. The amp is everything i could ask for.
Ive been toying with the idea of s rocket for a while and now im ready financially.
I think the Rocket will be a great addition to my line up.
I know that these amps will be of great value to those that have them
And feel privileged to own one.
I am at the point in my life where i can get pretty much what i want when i want
And could probably afford an original if i wanted to. That said, it still would be a lot of money for me and since JM is building, i can get one for a lot less. And i will add that he builds a mean amp and have nothing but good things to say about him and his builds.
Its a no brainer for me!!
Im going to go for traditional Cherry this time. Maybe :)
    Cheers

Ha ha ha! You mean the express thread? From 2010??
That, was epic. Where did you find it?
I quit gear page, i quit amp garage, i quit smoking too by the way!!
This time i don 't care because I know my amp is awesome.
So its all irrelevant to me.:)

Yup, in the end I bought a used JM build, but he was a helpful gentleman all thru my process of figuring out what I wanted and quite supportive of buying used. I'm very happy with the results!

Thats the thread! I was looking for TW info and came across it. What a read! Congrats on quitting smoking. I smoked a pack a day from the age of 15 to 21 and am soooo glad I quit. (I am 29 now)

That was a fun time. Doubt we'll get that this time though. Enough have been ordered.

Thats a beauty!! Hows the break up on it? Sometimes i think it will be easier to use than my express for certain types of music

Theres something i neglected to say.
Mine is a Trem Rocket. JM has the circuit and he is building it for me.
I did not want to say it at first, but its all good.
This will be one of a very few in existence.
    Im pretty happy

The break up is great on the amp, how fast it comes really depends on your pickups, volume, pedals, etc. I'm not a big EL84 guy and never bonded much with vintage Vox's or even new EL84 designs, but the Rocket won me over. Very transparent, touch sensitive and gorgeous clean chime that I love. I keep it mainly paired with a 2x12 with Celestion Blues because that's where the cleans to modest gain sound best, but using the Rocket with humbuckers into a 4x12 with greenbacks sounds awesome! It's still loud, but very easy to manipulate.

Lucky devil, we talked about this when mine was being done...told him I'd order one with trem for my 2nd Rocket...I need to get in line for another!

JM built me the first ever 1/2 power Rocket..... It rocks with a '63 Vox Super Twin sealed back cabinet with Celestion 20 watters. Love this amp!!

So, does one simply email JM through the trainwreck site to buy one of these?

    How much do they run?
I'm going to guess a lot since I haven't seen any out there...

Yes just email him. If you give him your number he will call you. Full power starts at $5,000 half power at $3,800.
