I got to the end of Dr. Faustus. The film is being edited so I said to the Director (I'm such a naif at soundtrack work) can I wait for the editing to be finished? - he wanted an idea of the music first. So turning to the mantra: "The music is secondary to the visuals" I did this (it's several "cues"):

Lucifer/Satan turns up and basically kicks the protagonist to death but you never see him clearly (ha!), he's all angles, light and shadows so I wanted the music to reflect what is going on in the victims brain. From the tacky organ onwards it's mostly dissonant.......Oh, Beelzebub makes a come back two thirds of the way thru (for his fans).
    Good fun doing this stuff!

    Best, Pete.

    Thank you very much, everyone!

I have noticed that the more dissonant you make a large band the more it sounds like a giant piano-accordian.................no wonder I used to drive the dog mad as a kid until my Mum threw the thing (accordian) out when I was ten.

Joseph - I have a lot of catching up to do with your stuff!

    Cheers, Pete.

Thanks, Scott. Er, I picked up my guitar today for the first time in weeks, ouch!
The other thing I was trying to capture at the end (starting with the "thudding" footsteps) was a recurring nightmare I had as a child where I would be running from some nameless horror thing just out of sight and I would reach our stairs and then I felt like I was running through molasses.
The thing was getting closer and I'd end up spreadeagled facing down the stairs whilst this force was trying to pull me backwards and I would hear disjointed sounds and loud clicking noises (probably my heart) - luckily I always woke up at that point......

    Best, Pete.

    Thanks, GS6! You're a pal.
When are you going to put up some more of your delicious guitar playing?

Hey Pete ... glad to see you online right now ...
Occasionally I get notices from folk looking for music for TV/Documentary & such type of things..
How can I get these notices to you when they come my way ...?

I've posted a few in the Sound Hound section for those who are interested,
but I'm sure you didn't see 'em (did you by chance..?)
