Looking for comparisons of these two speakers in a closed-back 1x12 cab in terms of tone, breakup, etc. with a Marshall or Marshallesque ~20 watt head. How do they compare?

Also, the G12M is a rather inefficient 96db, which I like, but the Blue is a full 100db. Is the Blue considerably louder as well? More headroom (not good for me)?

Did a search but these two in particular were never directly compared.

Blue is louder with more low mids. When driven it compresses more. No more headroom

The G12M greenback will be what your looking for - better pairing with el34's

I have a Voxer (18 for me) with a 2x12 cab loaded with one blue and one G12H30.

I am wondering, and reading about the Heritage G12M.
I've been thinking of if it would work better for me than the G12H30.

any thoughts on pairing a blue and G12M Heritage in a Voxer ?? How might that sound ?

Any way to describe the sound between the Heritage and the g12H30 ??

I have also been toying with the thought of another blue or Scumnico....thinking on how that might work for or against.

just trying to learn more about speakers and amps, so any thoughts you might have would be appreciated.

and yes all of this is from the tone in me trying to fight the walls....

I've been wondering how a Blue and a Scumnico together as well.
Anyone have any experience with this ?

I would think that the Scumnico having a bit less treble content and more bottom end might work well with the Blue...

    I'm sure he's talking about a 2 x EL84 amp actually.

Blues sound much louder as the high end is really powerful and even louder than the 100db rating. I find most mixes with the Blue are pretty pointless as all you hear is the blue the one exception might be a G12H30 the anniversary issue as that is scooped so you can hear the bass and it is very efficient speaker. Greens just get smothered. I prefer the Scumnico to the Blue now so I don't use them for anything but my AC30. For a Marshall sound I'd go with two Scumback 25 watt one 75hz one 55 hz.

well channel one is 12ax7 marshall based, and channel two is ef86 ac15 ish based.
so i dig the Blue for the chime and high end sweetness.
I like warm, earthy or woody/mellow tones.....so i think the tightness and bass of the G12H30 anniverary might be away from what i am looking for.
maybe i should just stick with what i have.....i dunno.
i heard some clips of the Heritage G12M and liked what i heard....though that was a single 1x12.

    i appreciate your thoughts guys....so keep'em coming.
