This is the prototype of one of Alf's design's.

    Nu-Valve
    Tube Overdrive

It's in a Zen Drive size box.
    It uses 2 nuvistor tubes.
Playing my Squire 51 into the pedal then into the clean channel of my D'Lite 22. Hermida 1x12 ported Z-cab w/ a Celestion G12-65.
Volume on 2. Pretty quiet as usual, can't really open it up in my apt.
Let me know what you think as this circuit with the nuvistor tubes is something that we are not used to hearing.

Did you make the Joyful Noise backing track?

No, it came from a guy here named telewacker via a guy named Althrax.

BTW, pedal has the feel of an amp. Has a give on the attack that is very cool.
    More clips to come.
I'll show the rock edge of this pedal next.

    Very nice tone!

    Killer chops, Chuck!

I love the B3 part too, the guitar and B3 blend together nicely\.

Sounds great...but it'd be nicer to hear it without background music. That way you can really hear it. To me...in that clip....it sounds alot like a zendrive...with maybe a tab more gain. Where is this pedal supposed to fall in the line of pedals Alf sells?

Thanks, and I plan on doing that asap. I couldn't resist playing on this track. Reminded me of the Meters.
It's quite different than the zen, def more gain but also can get really raw sounding as well. When I first plugged it in and hit an A power chord it sounded like the Who....forget the tune now but it rang that bell.

Not sure how to answer the question, I'll check w/ Alf. I'll keep doing clips so the pedal can speak for itself.

The Nu Valve is a killer pedal.I have had a prototype for a couple of years. Yeah he designed it that long ago. Just took a while to catch up and start making them. Its way different in gain feel and tone to my ears than the Zendrive or Z2. Chuck hit it right on the head. It can be very raw like a big Marshall type crunch or dark and smooth. To me its the finest pedal Ive heard from Alf. Glad he finally decided to release it.Its a special one for sure.

That sounds great. You are causing me to spend more money. When is Alf going to have them in production?
