welcome! What's the deal with the John Mayer haters? The mf can play, right? ..and it was his tone that got me started here. Until I heard the smoking tone on gravity, I thought my 70's Musicman with a distortion+ in front of it was just fine. Now I'm obsessed! Perhaps I have a reason to hate JM myself?

Lots of John Mayer dislikes probably because they are not John Mayer... Cannot Play like John Mayer, nor do they have the status.

I happen to like his stuff. Some of it is not my cup of tea. But to each his own.......
This is a great, funny, crazy place.

You hit it. Pop allure is what the haters hate. Jealous maybe? Guy can play and play well. There are some Two Rock haters around here, also. Kimock, Mayer and Schofield do them justice.

Two Rock haters? That's like hating Ferrari! I guess there are those, too.

The very reason I started listening to John Mayer, really listening, was because his tone is absolutely incredible. Then I realized, "that kid can really play! He is truly a remarkable player." ...and now I am a fan. Until then I just tolerated songs like "neon".
