    Hi,

Came across this site after a link from another site I look at and have been blown away by the advice that is freely shared here. I've been busy putting a pedalboard together and have spent the last week or so going through the 350+ pages in the Effects section and found some excellent suggestions that have cured the problems I was having. I was all ready to take my rig into my local amp chap to get them to "just sort it out". No need, following the advice here, I stripped it all down and put it back together again and it is just amazing. Considering what this would have cost me to sort out, I've just become a Gold Supporting Member as my way of saying thanks!

Anyway, as this is an intro section - I've just turned 30 and have left my modelling gear behind and have seen the light! My wife bought me a Fender 52 Re-Issue Telecaster for my 30th and I foolishly tried it through a Fender Tube amp - what a mistake that was! I went back the week afterwards and left with a Mesa/Boogie LoneStar Special, which I adore. I play in a couple of local covers bands and a "The Jam" tribute band, but I play keyboards in that one.

    My gear is:

    Gibson Les Paul 2002 Standard
Fender Stratocaster - 50th Anniversary American Series
    Fender Telecaster - '52 Re-Issue
Assorted other guitars, but those are the highlights

Play this lot through a Mesa/Boogie LoneStar Special 1x12, which has been re-valved with the Watford Valves Harma Cryo Re-valve kit. A very worthy upgrade. I also popped in a set of their Harma Cryo EL-84s as well. The amp sounded good before I changed the valves, sounds even better now!

My pedalboard is a PedalTrain PT2, loaded with, in order:

    Keeley Crybaby
    Keeley Katana
    Keeley BD-2
    Keeley Compressor
Lucitronics Lucifer OD Pedal - custom made, exquisite sounding pedal
    Line 6 DL-4
Boss TU-2 (that magic ingredient with its buffers at the end of the pedal chain!)

This is hooked up with a Pedalsnake, which is another revelation.

I also use a Furman Power Conditioner, Korg DTR-2000 and a Sennheiser G2 Wireless Rig. The last two only come in when playing Live, but the Power conditioner is always used. Not risking my gear, now I've got it the way I want.

Anyway - just thought I should say Hi and thanks for all the info

    Fox
