Thought I'd take the time to say a quick "hello". Been playing guitar for 28 years, have had a Martin HD28, and a '57 re-issue Strat (Fender, obviously) for 26 and 24 years respectively. A month or so ago my wife suggested I buy myself another guitar (I thought about it for a millisecond), to cut a long story short, I came across a '65 Gibson Hummingbird - couldn't, wouldn't... didn't pass it up... love it - I always play a lot... I can't put this thing down. So, all of a sudden I can't get enough, I'm surfing the net checking out what's out there, becoming more obsessed with vintage Gibson acoustics than what's good for me.

Anyway... that's how I found this forum, and I love it. I love reading about what you all have to say, - this is a pretty awesome font of knowlege.

I live in Perth, West Australia - the most isolated city in the world, but a good one to hang out in. I play guitar incessantly, (especially with the "new" bird), but I'm an advertising photographer by profession, if you feel like it, check me out www.robertsimeon.com I look forward to dropping in again... and again and again.

Welcome - nice pictures... How did you get the ballerina into the middle of the field without leaving footprints?

    Welcome.

This place can get you nuts with obsession for guitars. Gear Acquisition Syndrome. GAS.

Oh the pleasure and the pain of desire.

    Have fun.

The earth underfoot was not as soft as it looks, ballerina not to heavy - if she had left some I would have retouched them out.

    Hi Tricks,
I'm from Melbourne. Plenty of other Aussie's on the board. If you are like me you'll end up spending waaay too much time here and it will cost you money, lots of money.

I've been to Perth, too, great city. Based on the numbers you gave us, it looks like that 57 reissue would be an '82-'84 Fullerton reissue. Is that right? I have an '82 and love it. Welcome.

    Rob --
I wrote you about the Fullerton guitars -- did you get that e-mail? It looks like it might not have gone through.

Thanks Fullertone - No, I haven't received it. However, having said that, we are having problems with our internet provider today (of all days). Maybe, hold off for now, I'll let you know when we've sorted out the problem.
    Thanks,
    Rob
